Fitness Centre Contract Signed

Today Tuesday 15th August: Patricia Christmas, Chairman of Phyllis Court Club, and Guy Butler, Managing Director of Total Construction, signed the fixed price contract to build The Fitness Centre at Phyllis Court.

Mrs Christmas commented ’This is the milestone I have been waiting for since our members voted to go ahead with the Centre, in April 2016. It’s the culmination of a lot of hard work, and it is a day to celebrate at Phyllis Court Club!’ 

After many months of planning, Total Construction and Phyllis Court have entered into the contract to design and build the Fitness Centre. The work will begin in the first week of September. 

Following extensive and detailed design work, planning permission was granted on July 13th to build a Fitness Centre. This will include a 20 metre swimming pool and extensive changing facilities for members using the Centre, as well as those who participate in the outdoor sports regularly undertaken at the Club. There will be a gym, an exercise studio for the various classes currently taking place in the Club house, Pilates and Yoga. Additional classes will be planned to encourage participation for all members of the Club. 

It is anticipated that the building will be completed in 2018 and open sometime after Regatta. Phyllis Court will then provide a complete range of leisure and recreational facilities for our members to enjoy in the unique setting by the River Thames.
