August Open Door Month
If you are not yet a Member but you are intrigued by the Club, you are invited to book dining during the month of August.
Whether you fancy brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or drinks, in August the Club is holding an ‘Open Door Month’ so prospective members may dine.
Orangery All-Day Dining
The All-Day Dining menu in the Orangery incorporates a variety of tasty and healthy recipes, as well as the classics that Members love. Good quality ingredients take centre stage in the menu in keeping with the Club’s ethos to partner with and support local businesses. Executive Chef, Carl Jackman, explains “not only does this mean we can use the freshest, most flavoursome and nutrient rich ingredients, but we also support the local economy. Some of the local game, meats and cheeses are fantastic!”
The bistro style menu offers something for every occasion, be that a hot croissant with melting butter and fresh strawberry jam for breakfast, or toasted rye bread with slow roasted vine tomatoes, smashed avocado, and runny poached eggs for brunch. For lunch there are salads and ‘lite bites’ for the health conscious or, more substantial dishes such as steak with French fries and all the trimmings. In the afternoon choose the deluxe afternoon tea with a tower of finger sandwiches, cakes, and home-made scones with rich local clotted cream and jam. The Orangery will see a seamless shift from day to night with up to three courses available in the evening, and if you have a sweet tooth (or even if you haven’t) the desserts are sure to hit the spot!
The Orangery is airy and relaxed and enjoys views of the lawn and River Thames. It is open 10am – 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 12pm - 5pm on Sunday so you can enjoy a delicious roast.
Al fresco dining in the Riverside Pavilion
Enjoy al fresco in the Riverside Pavilion every Tuesday and Wednesday 18.30 - 21.00 and drinks may be enjoyed until 23.00.
This beautiful building offers a relaxed informal dining experience, with music, drinks, food and socialising in one of Henley’s premier locations on the river front. The top deck of the Riverside Pavilion enjoys unparalleled panoramic views of the lawns, river and Chilterns beyond.
The food is light, trendy and flavoursome. The menu - which expanded in July - includes small plates, large plates, and desserts in addition to the popular light bites and sharing platters. Small plates such as chicken Caesar salad, and more substantial meals such as a beef burger or grilled lobster can be enjoyed.
The relaxed menu and ample drinks selection work in perfect harmony with gentle jazz background music. On the second Tuesday of each month the music takes centre stage as diners are treated to a live performance by a jazz trio.
To accommodate the new menu, balcony tables are made up to seat parties of between two and eight diners. These balcony tables may be reserved via Reception, however the rattan furniture will remain as free seating.
There are two options to enjoy fine dining at Phyllis Court - the Dining Room or Chef's Showcase.
There will be Champagne on arrival at 7pm.
Enjoy a truly delicious à la carte or tasting menu in the Dining Room where chef Carl displays his flair for first-rate catering on Friday and Saturday evenings. This is the formal dining experience with crisp white linen and quintessentially British décor. The menu has a mix of classic and stylish chic dishes, paired perfectly with wine chosen by our sommelier.
If you enjoy a la carte and tasting menus, try the monthly Chef's showcase in the Riverside Pavilion. On the second Saturday of every month, enjoy exclusive taste of Executive Chef Carl Jackman's cooking talent in the Riverside Pavilion. The menu's are designed especially for the evening and are served with a carefully chosen wine match.
