LLC Celebrate 50th Anniversary

LCC 50TH ANNIVERSARY
The Ladies Luncheon Club (LLC) Interest Group today celebrates its 50th Anniversary.
The Interest Group was established in 1967 to give lady Members the opportunity to meet others in a friendly environment. The LLC is now very well attended by ladies who enjoy socialising, listening to entertaining guest speakers and, of course, appreciate a tasty lunch!
The celebration in the Ballroom today acknowledged the 1960’s, as attendees enjoyed a delicious banquet with a Duck à l’Orange main followed by a trio of Black Forest Gâteau, Pineapple Upside Down Cake and a mini Sherry Trifle. Many ladies chose to mark this momentous occasion by dressing to impress with beautiful hats and dresses.
A short talk on the history of the Ladies Luncheon Club was given by long standing member and ex-Chairman of the LLC, Barbara Pascall. After lunch, the ladies were entertained by actor and singer Jackie Marks, accompanied on the piano by the ever-popular James Church. Together, they performed a fabulous medley of 1960s songs.
The LLC is one of the longest running Interest Groups at Phyllis Court, but there are now over thirty Groups for Members to choose from. There really is something for everyone among the Interest Groups, with clubs that enable Members to learn some new creative skills, keep fit, enjoy trips or food and drink. Each Interest Group is managed by Members, and volunteer committees plan and implement the annual programmes.
