Improve your understanding and use of technology
The Innovation & Technology group (formerly the Computer Group) aims to promote better understanding of technology around us – from the smartphones, tablets and computers we use every day to the wider applications of science and technology in society from Dentistry to Fusion Power, Astrophysics to Artificial Intelligence. We run regular presentations and workshops, occasional courses and visits and offer a ‘helpdesk’ service to group members.

Presentations each month cover a wide range of technology and science topics – speakers are a mix of experts from outside the Club and members of the Innovation & Technology Group

Workshops also monthly are presented by an experienced committee member, covering topics relevant to our devices such as backup, security, applications and connectivity

Courses are run periodically for Apple and Android devices and other personal technology

Visits to local sites of interest are organised occasionally
Our volunteer-run ‘helpdesk’ service is available to members by email and as a walk-in service following our workshop talks where members can bring issues regarding Apple or Android mobile devices, Windows or Mac PCs or laptops and questions regarding Electric Vehicles.
