ODE TO PETITE SIRAH
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways
Your full body, depth and nose I praise
When to your rarity a glass I raise
I love thy flavours of blueberry and plum,
Chocolate and spice - I cannot be glum
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need by sun and candlelight
Thy breadth and colour a wondrous sight.
(With apologies to Elizabeth Barrett Browning 1806 -1861)
McMANIS PETITE SIRAH (Durif) available from Purple Foot £12.15

SYLVIA’S WINE DRINKER’S SURVIVAL GUIDE IN SELF-ISOLATION
Rules :-
1. A “Dry” day means you only drink in the evenings.
2. A “Damp” day means you mix one measure of Dubonnet in a tumbler topped up with bitter lemon – several times.
3. A “Wet” day means you cannot decide which of your favourite wines best suits your mood or food. Try them all to make sure.
4. Remember alcohol in wine might be regarded as internal disinfectant – certainly easier to swallow than paracetamol.
5. Avoid a lazy liver at all costs. Regular wine drinking practice is essential.
P.S. Not to be taken too seriously.
