Group singing and entertainment

The Phyllis Court Singers are a friendly group who enjoy singing a variety of music, from the traditional to the popular, usually once a week. The Group perform regular concerts in the Club, for organisations locally, give free concerts for charitable organisations.

The group's emphasis is on singing for enjoyment, whilst improving the quality of performance under lively and enthusiastic direction. The group do not ask prospective members to have previous musical experience or be able to read music or audition.

The Groups repertoire includes such medleys as The Beatles in Concert, Les Miserables, West Side Story, Back to the 50’s and My Fair Lady, as well as such songs as You Raise Me Up, Lady is a Tramp, Bridge over Troubled Water, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, Where Ere’ You Walk, American Trilogy, Angels and Tie a Yellow Ribbon. At Christmas we have a repertoire of Christmas Songs and Carols.

Previous concerts at Phyllis Court include: the Queen’s Coronation Anniversary, the Queen’s 90th Birthday, St George’s Day and an Autumn Tea Party Concert. While concerts outside Phyllis Court include; Thamesfield, Sunrise Senior Living, Sue Ryder, Age Concern, Salvation Army, Henley House & Garden Show, Mayor of Henley’s Over 70’s Christmas Party, HEDFAS, Shiplake Church and Henley Advent Calendar.
