New French Interest Group

Flex your linguistic muscles in a relaxed and chatty atmosphere with the newest Interest Group at Phyllis Court: Groupe Français. The Group invites Members to practise all aspects of the French language and it is open to everyone, regardless of proficiency.
The Tuesday meetings, which are due to take place on the second and fourth week of each month at 7pm and 2pm respectively, will include simple guided tasks, exercises and games. The sessions will cover vocabulary building, grammar acquisition, culture and current affairs discussions.
The Group is the brainchild of Arnaud Barge who will be Chairman. Commenting on the Group, Arnaud said: “Our motto is ‘French for all, regardless of level and ability’. Each session will usually start with a group activity as a warm-up, before small groups are formed in order to cater for all abilities. Members feeling a little bit ‘rusty’ need not worry, there will be plenty of opportunities to help them rekindle their love for this beautiful language. There will also be ample opportunities for Members with a higher degree of fluency to chat and discuss all matters of French.”
The conception of the Groupe Français means there are now 33 Interest Groups run by Members for Members at Phyllis Court.
