PCRC at Heros Return Event

On Saturday 17 September 2016, Henley turned out to welcome back Members of the British Olympic rowing team! Phyllis Court Rowing Club (PCRC) were invited to attended the event to support the team who won five gold and silver medals in Rio 2016.
The Olympic athletes took part in a row past on the Thames and were then joined by their partners and children on an open-top bus tour through the town. PCRC joined other Henley Rowing Clubs in raising their oars, saluting the Mayor and Rowers.
The Heroes Return event was organised by Henley Town Council and the Leander Club where many of the team train. Matt Langridge, Gold medallist from the men's coxed eight, told the BBC “It was brilliant, especially being in Henley”.
